We're pretty black-and-white on the outside. Look in the eyes though.

Made completely out of boredom, but I thought it turned out pretty nice, so why not submit it?

Update 24.03.2013
Changed the facial features to achieve a more serious look. Fixed "hair" clipping.

I'm not a 3d artist but I wanted to write a critique anyway, I hope you don't mind, because this is really intriguing and I love the concept. First off, you got the "anatomy" of the face spot on - it's wonderfully realistic. I love the glossiness of it too, it makes it look like a mask, which I guess furthers the message of being black and white on the outside. I also think the fact that it is checkered says something in itself - like as a society we are made to be perfectly technical and "ordered" like robots. Maybe I'm reading too far into it, but I can't help it. I think the one thing that could be better is the eyes - since that is the idea of the art - but like I say I don't really know what is used to create 3d art as a digital painter. I just think it'd look better with more detailed eyes, and with reflections in them, and perhaps a bright colour. But overall this is wonderful and very thought-provoking, and kind of sci-fi-esque.

Excellent idea, it turnet out really well indeed ! I like the idea to remove the alpha textures on hair and eyelashes ... Great image !

Thanks! At first I tried doing it with alpha textures but it didn't fit to the entire simple scene concept :)

Nice and original, I'm surprised that I don't see stuff like this more to be honest. I like the grey in his eyes personally, they have good contrast with the black and white.
